SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. --- Portland's Cody Hawken belted a two-run homer, but the San Francisco Dons scored four runs in the third inning and six more in the sixth en route to a 12-2 win over the Pilots in a West Coast Conference contest played on Friday at Benedetti Diamond.
Hawken's blast came in the top of the seventh inning and it came with Kevin Wade on base, after he reached with a lead-off walk. It's the fourth homer of the year for Hawken, which matches Ryan Hoogerwerf for the team-high.
But it was too little too late as the Dons (18-17, 5-9 WCC) had taken control of the game with those two big innings.
