AZUSA/TORRANCE, Calif.--- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track teams began competition at the Bryan Clay Invite and the Mt. Sac Relays on Thursday, including new personal bests from members of both teams.
In Azusa, Henry Hayes was the first Pilot to break a personal record on the day, finishing the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9:03.50.
In the men's 5000m, Peter Allegre placed third in his heat and claimed a new personal best with a time of 14:27.08, while teammate Gabriel Haughey also finished with a PR in the event with a time of 14:30.
