SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland sophomore Carlos Donat has been named the West Coast Conference men's tennis singles player of the week after helping the Pilots clinch their first-ever WCC regular season title last weekend. Donat went 2-0 in singles play including a thrilling three set comeback victory against Pepperdine on Friday to secure the team title.
The Barcelona, Spain native dropped the first set against Pepperdine's James Van Slyke by a 6-4 margin, but bounced back to win the second set 6-3 and the third 7-5 to finish off a thrilling team comeback and incite an on-court celebration.
