BYU Offense Erupts Early as Pilots Fall to Cougars

PROVO, Utah – The BYU Cougars erupted for a 21-point halftime lead and then cruised to a 99-81 victory over the Portland Pilots in West Coast Conference basketball action Thursday night at the Marriott Center. BYU is still in contention for a share of the WCC title heading into the final day of conference play on Saturday.

Kyle Collinsworth recorded a triple-double for the Cougars (22-8, 13-4 WCC) with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists to lead six players in double figures. Senior guard Chase Fischer finished with a game-high 21 points.

Portland junior center Ray Barreno recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
