BYU hands Pilots first WCC Loss

PROVO, Utah – The BYU Cougars recorded a 4-1 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's tennis dual match on Friday at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts. BYU improves to 7-4 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Pilots fall to 6-5 and 1-1 in the WCC.

Portland was without sophomore Raphaelle Leblanc (ill) who normally slots into the No. 2 singles position due to illness.

The Cougars took the early lead by securing the doubles point with comfortable wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Portland's top doubles tandem of Jelena Lukic and Anna Oberg were trailing 5-4 when the point was clinched.
