PORTLAND, Ore. --- It's been a busy spring for the Portland men's soccer team and first-year head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt, and recently the Pilots played the Chicago Fire to a 1-1 draw in a friendly at Merlo Field.
The Fire, of Major League Soccer, scored a world-class goal in the first half to take a 1-0 lead. The Pilots responded, and in the second half the home side tallied the equalizer as junior Eddie Sanchez found the back of the net.
