EUGENE, Ore. --- The 2016 NCAA Track & Field National Championship started off well for the Portland Pilots as senior Reid Buchanan took 5th place in the 10,000m on Wednesday night at Hayward Field. It was a perfect night to race, and Buchanan took full advantage in his final collegiate competition.
In Buchanan's third 10,000m race of his career, he completed the 25 lap race in 29:13.40. The 5th place finish ties a men's program best finish at Nationals that has only been accomplished by two other Pilots in history.
