Brundage’s Clutch Hit Sends Pilots to a Thrilling 7-6 Win over UC Irvine

PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland's Beau Brundage came through with a go-ahead, two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning and Nick Shur retired the Anteaters in order in the ninth as the Pilots earned a series split with UC Irvine with a thrilling 7-6 win on Sunday afternoon at a sunny Joe Etzel Field. Brundage went 3-for-4 on the day to cap a productive weekend, and Shur collects his second save of the series.

Entering the bottom of the eighth trailing 6-4, Daniel Lopez began the home half of the inning with a lead-off single. Cody Hawken followed with a double into the left-center cap, and Lopez scored all the way from first base to pull the Pilots within one.
