WARNITA SOUTH, Australia – University of Portland men's basketball commit Bol Dengdit has been named to the 17-man Australian squad for the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Dengdit signed with Portland back in November after what has already been an impressive youth career despite just picking up basketball a few years prior. The 6-11 forward played with Australia's U-19 squad at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 World Cup where he averaged 6.7 points and 3.3 rebounds across seven games. He scored 10 points against Team USA in that tournament. He is also a part of the NBA Global Academy, which helps prospects outside the United States develop their skills in order to make the leap to the next level.
