STOCKTON, Calif. --- Portland sophomore starter Kevin Baker was impressive on the hill recording a career-high 13 strikeouts, but the Pacific Tigers prevailed 2-0 over the Pilots to claim the West Coast Conference series on Sunday afternoon at Klein Family Field. Baker's previous career-high for K's in a game was 11, which the right-hander had done twice this season.
But it wasn't enough as the Pilots (9-34-1, 5-16 WCC) could only put together three hits on the day. One of those hits came in the top of the ninth inning when Beau Brundage reached base with a one-out single.
