RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Alden Applewhite scored a career-high 20 points for Portland, but the UC Riverside Highlanders capitalized on a 24-2 edge in second chance points to pull out a 76-65 victory Thursday at SRC Arena.
Applewhite added three steals to his 20 point game to lead the Pilots (8-7). Tyler Robertson helped out with 13 points and Vasilije Vucinic chipped in with 12 points.
How It Happened
After jumping out to a 6-5 advantage, Portland went on a 7-0 run with 17:40 left in the first half to increase its lead to 13-5.
