LAS VEGAS – Portland dropped an 81-58 decision to No. 18 ranked Saint Mary's on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the 2017 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships hosted at the Orleans Arena. The Pilots close the season with an 11-22 overall record, while the Gaels improve to 27-3.
Sophomore guard Jazz Johnson led Portland with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting. He also grabbed six rebounds.
Lake Oswego, Ore. native Calvin Hermanson led the Gaels with 21 points, while Jock Landale finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Portland led by six points early in the first half, but a 16-2 Gaels run put them ahead by double digits.
