WPT GTO Trainer Hands of the Week: Cutoff Open Vs Big Blind Call

Today you’ll be playing a common spot in a Tournament where you open-raise in the Cutoff seat and the Big Blind calls with a 30BB stack.

Due to your range advantage against the Big Blind, you should generally c-bet with a high frequency in this spot. Although you won’t be c-betting 100% of the time on all boards, you will be c-betting much more often than not.

Keep in mind that the Big Blind has a very wide preflop calling range that is also capped. Very strong hands such as big pairs and big aces would have been 3-bet preflop most of the time, meaning that these hands are often not present in their range postflop after flat calling our preflop raise.
