Reporting from the 1973 World Series of Poker

Over the weekend I was in the middle of doing some reading for this week’s “Poker & Pop Culture” column for PokerNews when I had an idea for something I’m going to try to do this week on Hard-Boiled Poker.

The idea came as I was rereading Jon Bradshaw’s great gambling narrative Fast Company, published in 1975 (reviewed here), in particular the chapter on Johnny Moss. That chapter contains a detailed report from the 1973 World Series of Poker, including a number of specific hands reported with varying levels of detail.
