The poker player who attacked Maurice Hawkins at a private game in Florida is now facing assault charges.
Eugenio Castaneda ("Eugene"), during a dispute of nationality, walked around the table and began punching the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring record-holder. Most of those punches landed, and a video of the incident that surfaced on social media went viral.
PokerNews spoke with Castaneda last week to get his side of the story. He said Hawkins, during the debate over nationality, asked him if he wanted to box, which led to the fight.
