But the Patriots adjusted their defensive scheme and Bennett was unhappy with his reduced role in the defense. The attitude is a red flag, but the talent and production is there. Michael Bennett’s contract is roughly $2.5 MM for the rest of the season, cheap enough for the Cowboys. The Trade Details are cheap too: The Cowboys gave up just a 2021 conditional 7th round pick. That pick could become a 6th. The Cowboys like to rotate defensive ends, so Bennett will get playing time behind DeMarcus Lawrence and Robert Quinn. Kerry Hyder will still be a rotational player.
