Dallas Cowboys news and rumors this week have been focused on two players: Taco Charlton and Jalen Ramsey. Charlton, a former first round draft pick, was released on Wednesday to make room for Robert Quinn on the active roster and now he’s been claimed by the Miami Dolphins. Speaking of roster moves, could the Cowboys be considering bringing in Jalen Ramsey or Dez Bryant? Cowboys rumors have linked both players to Dallas and Cowboys Report host Tom Downey has the insider scoop. Dak Prescott is putting up big numbers. And he might be setting himself up for an even bigger contract. The Sports Illustrated cover star is benefitting from Kellen Moore’s new offense, finishing week 1 with a perfect quarterback rating. Now the question is, when will he get paid? Taco Charlton tweeted out on Monday “free me,” and the Cowboys wasted no time granting his request. With Robert Quinn returning from a 2 game suspension, the Cowboys had to cut someone and it’s no surprise to anyone, Taco was the odd man out. It is worth noting that Dallas tried to trade Charlton to the Houston Texans before the season, however, Taco didn’t really have much trade value due to his lack of production. Now, Charlton has his “chance” as he’s been claimed by the Miami Dolphins. Jalen Ramsey trade rumors just won’t stop. While there is no doubting Ramsey’s elite athleticism, signing him would force the Cowboys to go back-to-back drafts without a 1st round pick. In addition to chasing a Super Bowl, the team is also in continuing contract discussions with Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. Jalen Ramsey comes at a high cost-- roughly $14MM-- and would be more of a want rather than a true need for the Cowboys. Dallas is deep at the cornerback position with Byron Jones, Chidobe Awuzie, Anthony Brown and Jourdan Lewis all healthy.
