The Dallas Cowboys are currently negotiating a long-term contract extension with pro bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. The two sides are wanting to get a deal done before the start of the 2019 season, but negotiations have come to a stopping point as the two sides have not been able to agree to terms. Cowboys Report Host Tom Downey has the latest update on a potential DeMarcus Lawrence contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys could not reach an agreement with DeMarcus Lawrence before free agency, which resulted in the Cowboys placing the franchise tag on D-Law for the second year in a row. DeMarcus Lawrence needs shoulder surgery, but he says he will not get surgery until he receives a contract extension. The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly offered DeMarcus Lawrence a deal worth $20 MM per year, which is what D-Law was asking for at the beginning of free agency. However, it is said that Tank is now seeking a contract extension that pays him $22.5 MM a year and the Cowboys are hesitant to pay DeMarcus Lawrence what he is asking for.
