The Cowboys had a chance to beat the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football, but came up short. The Cowboys and head coach Jason Garrett didn’t go for it on 4th down, a move that has been criticized by many, including owner Jerry Jones. Cowboys Report host Tom Downey takes you through his Cowboys grades from the win over Lions. The Cowboys’ offense couldn’t move the football, with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott looking average. The offensive line, supposedly among the NFL’s best, was poor. On the bright side, the defense mostly limited the Texans in the points category. Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch were all over the field, preventing the Cowboys from feeling Sean Lee’s absence. On the coaching staff side, Jason Garrett and Scott Linehan were bad this week, especially the overly-conservative Garrett They remain on the hot seat and it could be time to at least have Garrett take over the play-calling.
