Steelers Name Randy Fichtner As New Offensive Coordinator

The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that Randy Fichtner will be the team's offensive coordinator and quarterback coach in 2018. This news breaks after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported yesterday that the Steelers are allowing offensive coordinator Todd Haley to walk away from his contract.

Fichtner and QB Ben Roethlisberger have a good relationship considering Roethlisberger asked for Fichtner to be removed from the coaches booth and placed on the sidelines for games. Head coach Mike Tomlin supported the idea and Fichtner's relationship with Roethlisberger is likely a big reason for the hire.
