Pittsburgh Steelers TE Darnell Washington has built on his success as a receiver last season and become a consistent part of the Steelers’ passing attack. This year, Washington has 349 yards through the air and multiple highlight-reel plays of him running through would-be tacklers. Ahead of the Steelers’ Week 17 matchup with the Cleveland Browns, head coach Kevin Stefanski offered some praise for Washington.
“This is a very powerful player. And I think the thing that most impressive is the YAC, the ability with the ball in his hand. He’s tough to bring down, he’s got good ball skills, and then when he has that ball in his hand, you better swarm the football,” Stefanski said during his Friday press conference via the Browns’ Twitter account.
