With the completion of the State Championship games in Hershey, this decade of WPIAL football has come to a close. There were numerous noteworthy feats to highlight, including single-game, single-season, and career passing, rushing, receiving and scoring records. There were state-record winning streaks and losing streaks. As part of recapping the decade that was in Western Pennsylvania High School football, here is a look at the top programs.
There are many different metrics one could use to identify the “top teams” of the decade in high school football. All told there were 129 schools that participated in WPIAL football throughout the decade.
