The WPIAL football action was spread out over three nights this weekend. This is the penultimate week of the regular season. There are still a number of big games taking place on Saturday. Bentworth 41, Avella 31 – Bentworth’s offensive explosion continues, scoring at least 34 points for the third straight week. Avella’s loss knocks the Eagles out of the Tri-County South conference title race, meaning Saturday’s game between California and Carmichaels will decide the conference champion.
