Will or won’t the Steelers sign WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling?
Although the Steelers have shown obvious interest in WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, there is no indication that a signing is imminent. The free agent recently visited with the team, but left without a contract. Former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers acknowledged the mutual interest, but also seemed to suggest it might not be enough.
There seem to be two extrinsic factors also influencing the Steelers’ laissez-faire pursuit of Valdes-Scantling. For one thing, they are facing a losing streak and could hit the trade deadline with a 4-4 record.
