The Steelers shook up their fanbase when news broke that they were meeting with pending free agent quarterback Russell Wilson. When the meeting turned into a signing, it shook up the quarterback room in more ways than one.
Wilson was reportedly told he would be the starter and Kenny Pickett would eventually ask to move on via trade rather than compete with 35-year-old Wilson. Even his biggest fans would have to admit that the Steelers didn’t sign the 25-year-old version of Wilson that won a Super Bowl.
