Why did Mike Tomlin pump up Roman Wilson and then barely use him?
On multiple occasions last week, Steelers HC Mike Tomlin went out of his way to pump up Roman Wilson, then barely used him. In their first game without DK Metcalf, the second-year receiver played just nine snaps. Of those nine snaps, he ran a whopping two routes in the passing game.
So the question is, why did Tomlin talk Wilson up if they weren’t going to use him? Scotty Miller functioned as the Steelers’ third receiver, Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling effectively being the starters.
