With under 300 receiving yards in 11 games, it’s fair to say the Steelers are underutilizing expensive tight end Pat Freiermuth. Even though they paid him a handsome new contract, he is hardly a focal point in the passing game. And he should be, argues QB Mason Rudolph, who has played with him the longest.
“We’ve got to do it”, Rudolph said of using Freiermuth more, via the Steelers’ website. “He’s a special player, and he’s great over the middle of the field. That’s where he’s always been at his best. You saw with the choice route there at the end that he’s got a good feel.
