Not only was Monday night’s win over the Miami Dolphins a huge one for the Pittsburgh Steelers, it also represented something more than the game of football for some players on the roster.
Sure, the likes of Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith wanted to get back at their previous team after they were traded in the offseason. But it offered a chance for franchise stalwarts like team captain Cameron Heyward and veteran outside linebacker Alex Highsmith — among others — to reunite with longtime teammate and now Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick was a multi-time All-Pro in the Steel City before he was traded away this offseason in the move that ironically landed Ramsey and Smith from the Dolphins.
