On a day in which the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense needed to force Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Daniel Jones into mistakes and take the football away, it was an unexpected pair of defenders that came together for the third Jones turnover of the day.
Second-year linebacker Payton Wilson blitzed off the edge and came off clean, batting a Jones pass into the air where rookie outside linebacker Jack Sawyer corralled the tipped pass for his first career interception, shutting down a promising Colts drive.
Heck of a play drawn up by the Steelers’ defense to blitz at the right time and create splash.
