Tyson Alualu Says Steelers Still Committed To DL Rotation: ‘They Preach That’ Here

The Pittsburgh Steelers were getting the beginning of a career year in 2019 for sixth-year veteran defensive end Stephon Tuitt, at least up until he suffered a torn pectoral muscle early in Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. The injury ended his season, dealing a big blow to the defense.

In reality, it’s a dual hit, as it not only takes away one of their best players, and one whose disruptive capabilities help others to make plays, but it also significantly weakens their bench in terms of available depth.

No matter how it shakes out, somebody who hasn’t played a snap this year will be dressing for the rest of the season.
