‘Thought He Did Good’: QB John Rhys Plumlee Helping Steelers Prepare For Caleb Williams’ Mobility

The Steelers signed QB John Rhys Plumlee this week, tasking him with simulating Bears QB Caleb Williams for the defense. While he has similar speed, he doesn’t have the same body composition—nor general talent level, as one would expect. But it was enough to give the defense a mobile quarterback to chase around, Cam Heyward said.

“I thought he did good”, Heyward said of Plumlee’s work this week simulating Caleb Williams, via the Steelers’ website. “There was a couple times they just extended plays, and you’ve got to get those looks, and we needed that.
