Jay Glazer reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers “decided not to” void DK Metcalf’s future guarantees after his suspension for an altercation with a fan, but it may not be that simple.
The Athletic’s Mike Sando outlined the many angles of this decision with help from various NFL agents and execs.
“This is a club-precedent-type decision, so they have to be careful with how they handle it,” one former GM told Sando.
But the decision is already made, according to Glazer (and an earlier report from Tom Pelissero), right?
“That right presumably endures in the absence of a hard deadline to make a decision,” Sando wrote.
