The Steelers say they could draft a QB at No. 28. Don't believe them.

As has always been the case since he joined the Steelers as their personnel boss, Kevin Colbert would not speak publicly about any draft prospect during his annual draft press conference Monday with Mike Tomlin.

As has not mostly been the case since Ben Roethlisberger joined the Steelers in 2004, the general manager implied they could draft a quarterback in the first round.

The smokescreen continues.

“We haven’t eliminated any position this year,’’ Colbert said.

“Our job is not only to win a championship in ’18, it’s to secure this franchise’s ability to do it in the future, and you have to have a great player at the quarterback position in our eyes to have the best chance to win a championship.
