Five years into his professional career, the 6-foot-7, 250-pound nose tackle takes the field with the rest of the Steelers.
That would be Daniel McCullers, aka Big Dan, aka Man Mountain, aka Shade Tree.
There are more nicknames, but the one he no longer wants to be known as is Mr. Potential, because that pretty much sums up his resume since the Steelers drafted him in the sixth round from Tennessee in 2014. They saw great potential in him then, and he did not add much to it over the next four seasons.
He realizes he’s running out of chances, and his next training camp could be his last.
