PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward can’t be mad at the stoppage of his game-day eye black saying “IRON” and “HEAD” because of the NFL’s uniform policy.
He saw a lot of good -- and felt a lot of support - from honoring his father, Craig ‘Ironhead’ Heyward, the former NFL fullback who battled cancer and died in 2006.
"It was a positive reaction from the fan support,” Heyward said. “It wasn’t the best way it could have been handled (by the NFL), but both sides wanted it to be resolved.
