There is always at least one curveball for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL Draft. This year, it came in the fourth round when they selected Ohio State OLB Jack Sawyer. While I think he’s a fine player and presented good value at No. 123 overall, that is a crowded position group in Pittsburgh with Nick Herbig already looking for more opportunities as it was.
Defensive Coordinator Teryl Austin spoke to the media after the pick, and he was asked about the plans for getting somebody like Sawyer involved.
“We’re gonna let him come in and work and then we’ll just let the thing sort itself out,” Austin said via the Steelers’ YouTube page.
