Steelers Waive Rookie OT Gareth Warren Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers have waived rookie offensive tackle Gareth Warren. Per Wednesday’s transaction sheet, Warren was waived after spending the last two months on injured reserve.

An undrafted rookie free agent out of FCS Lindenwood, Warren landed on injured reserve after suffering a concussion attempting to make a tackle during a Steelers preseason game. After clearing waivers this summer, Pittsburgh placed him on IR on August 20. Now deemed healthy, he’s officially a free agent.

Despite thin tackle depth, Warren struggled to make a push to make the roster. A minor camp knee injury tripped him up followed by his concussion.
