Steelers veteran already tumbling down the depth chart before the preseason

When the Pittsburgh Steelers signed veteran wide receiver Robert Woods shortly after the 2025 NFL Draft, many assumed it was to use Woods as the new veteran option in the passing game. Last year, Van Jefferson was handed the No. 2 receiver spot, and in 2023, veteran Allen Robinson started all 17 games for Pittsburgh.

In the first two weeks at Steelers training camp, Woods has been running behind players like DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, and Roman Wilson. But they aren't the only receivers getting the nod above Woods in the pecking order.

The latest buzz out of camp is that Ben Skowronek—who is largely known for his ability as a special teams gunner—has been working as the team's No.
