Steelers Turning Point: Predictable Fourth-Down Play, Predictable Result

For how poorly the Pittsburgh Steelers played Sunday night, they were still easily within reach of the Los Angeles Chargers entering the fourth quarter down 15-3 with the ball on offense. Pittsburgh put together an eight-play, 45-yard drive to get down into the lower red zone and came up empty. This was the final turning point of the game, and the one that ultimately doomed the Steelers to a blowout defeat at the hands of the Chargers.

A staple of the Steelers’ training camp practice sessions is the “seven shots” drill where the offense has seven attempts at the goal line to score a touchdown.
