Reasoning: It seems at this point in the season that James Pierre has an outright starting job, unthinkable just months ago. Billed as “just a special teamer”, he has, in his sixth season, shown real talent on defense. He figures to remain a starter for the rest of this season, and who knows where that might lead.
James Pierre entered this offseason far from assured of a roster spot, and now he is a starter on defense. I doubt anybody saw that coming, even Pierre, who has already been around for half a decade.
