The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing to build out their offseason, 90-man roster. Thursday, the team signed OL Doug Nester and WR Brandon Smith to Reserve/Future contracts.
Nester’s signing was reported earlier in the day by his agency. A versatile lineman who played both guard spots in training camp with Pittsburgh last summer, he’ll battle for a practice squad spot or final slot on the 53-man roster. A West Virginia product, he was teammates with C Zach Frazier in college before reuniting in the NFL. Nester has yet to play in a regular season game.
