Just two days after he was waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers, RB Trey Sermon is returning to the team. The Steelers signed Sermon to their practice squad on Friday, the team announced.
The Steelers had an opening on the practice squad after WR Isaiah Hodgins was signed by the New York Giants on Thursday. Sermon cleared waivers yesterday, and now he’s back with Pittsburgh.
Sermon was signed to the Steelers’ active roster ahead of their Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts, but he was waived with the team needing to make room for QB Will Howard, who was activated off IR on Wednesday.
