Steelers ‘Overestimated’ Their Role Players Minus DK Metcalf, Kaboly Says: ‘Should Be An Eye Opener To Arthur Smith’

The Steelers believed they had the personnel to get the job done without DK Metcalf on Sunday in Cleveland. They were wrong. And they weren’t just wrong, they were extremely wrong, scoring just six points. The last time they scored fewer points was back in 2022, the year after Ben Roethlisberger retired.

Without Metcalf, the Steelers used Adam Thielen, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Scotty Miller as their top three wide receivers. Somehow, Kenneth Gainwell only had 10 touches, and Jaylen Warren had 12. Despite success on the ground, they only attempted 23 designed runs.

“I think they just totally misidentified their personnel”, Mark Kaboly said of the Steelers’ strategy to fill the void left by DK Metcalf on 93.
