Steelers notebook: Williams never worried about future; Harrison vows he'll be cleared

Vince Williams was a sixth-round draft pick in 2013. He was no cinch to make the Steelers, let alone start. But that’s what he did 11 times after veteran Larry Foote was injured in the season opener.

The Steelers liked his work, but they weren’t overly impressed. The following spring, with their first pick in the 2014 draft, they drafted inside linebacker Ryan Shazier and immediately plugged him into the starting lineup.

“I never thought my future was in jeopardy,” Williams said Wednesday following practice. “I always knew the Steelers would make room for great players, and I was a great player.
