Steelers notebook: Defensive line uncertain as Bills' top rushing offense looms

The Steelers might have to face the NFL’s top rushing team without nose tackle Javon Hargrave, who is in concussion protocol after being injured in Sunday’s victory against the New York Giants.

That means Dan McCullers could make the second start of his three-year career in Buffalo against the Bills (6-6).

Hargrave and safety Shamarko Thomas are in concussion protocol after being injured against the Giants. Hargrave played only 12 snaps. The Steelers are already short-handed on the defensive line with the season-ending injury to Cam Heyward.

The Steelers (7-5) have won three in a row and are tied for the AFC North lead heading into Sunday’s game in Buffalo.
