The Pittsburgh Steelers' busy offseason continued Thursday, with T.J. Watt agreeing to a record-setting extension. The new deal is for three years and $123 million with $108 million guaranteed, edging out Ja'Marr Chase and Myles Garrett as the league's highest-paid non-quarterback. The deal is a win for both sides, as Watt gets plenty of security without a longer commitment from the Steelers.
As big of a win as it is for Pittsburgh, it could be equally as big a loss for teams around the league who also have pass rushers looking for new deals. The rival Cincinnati Bengals immediately come to mind, who are still embroiled in a contract dispute with Trey Hendrickson.
