For the second week in a row, first against the Dolphins and then against the Lions, the Steelers forced their opponent out of character. As it just so happens, they did so in similar ways, forcing teams that want to run to throw instead. And for the second week in a row, WR Calvin Austin III saw a team that seemed to lose its spirit.

“It was just a big-time performance by the defense, the d-line, linebackers, all parties involved, to just make their run game and that line non-existent”, Austin told Gerry Dulac on 102.5 WDVE’s Chalk Talk about the Steelers’ success against the Lions.
