Heading into Week 17, there remained a small chance that the Pittsburgh Steelers could win the AFC North and climb to the No. 3 seed in the AFC. With the Houston Texans’ win this afternoon, that is no longer possible. For the Steelers, it’s No. 4 seed or nothing.
Their path to the No. 3 seed involved the Steelers winning both of their next two games against the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens to finish the year at 11-6. From there, they needed both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans to lose out to finish at 11-6 and 10-7 respectively.
