Steelers LB Jon Bostic: ‘I’m A Three-Down Backer’

When the Pittsburgh Steelers signed inside linebacker Jon Bostic to a two-year, $4 million free agent contract this past March it was widely believed at the time that he would be the team’s new starter alongside Vince Williams. While that’s likely to be the case come Week 1 of the 2018 regular season, if not sooner, Bostic, who played last season for the Indianapolis Colts, found himself as a backup behind third-year inside linebacker Tyler Matakevich to start the team’s first week of OTA practices. It goes without saying that Bostic believes that sooner rather than later he’ll overtake Matakevich.
