The Steelers need a healthy Alex Highsmith more than ever right now with T.J. Watt sidelined with a punctured lung. The good news is he is healthy right now, and when he’s healthy, he plays at a different level. That’s what they’ll need this week, and possibly longer, not just from him but the entire edge rusher group.
“When he’s healthy, boy, he’s good”, DC Teryl Austin said of Highsmith, via transcript provided by the Steelers’ media department. “Everybody remembers the sack to end the game, but the dirty work stuff he did all game in terms of setting the edges and really being physical at the point of attack, that is the stuff that he really brings”.
